SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference placed two teams in the initial FCS Selection Committee Rankings, released Thursday (Nov. 3).  For the first time in the sport's history, the committee unveiled an in-season top 10 listing which was announced exclusively on ESPNU.

The Citadel was slotted sixth (8-0, 6-0), while Chattanooga (8-1, 6-1 SoCon) was tabbed eighth.  The Bulldogs are 8-0 for the first time in school history.  The Citadel plays host to Samford (6-2, 4-1 SoCon) Saturday afternoon and can earn at least a share of the Southern Conference title, as well as the league’s automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs with a win.

Chattanooga is idle this weekend and will host Wofford (5-3, 3-2 SoCon) on Nov. 12.  The Mocs have qualified for the FCS Playoffs each of the last two seasons and are looking for a third straight appearance in the playoffs.

The selection committee will release an in-season top 10 on Nov. 10 and again on Nov. 17.  The full FCS Playoff bracket will be revealed Sunday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.
