• The Southern Conference earned four bids to the FCS playoffs, an all-time high for the league.

• The Citadel earned the No. 6 overall seed and is idle until December 3. The Bulldogs will take on either Wofford or Charleston Southern.

• Chattanooga is making its third straight appearance in the playoffs. The Mocs host Weber State in the first round.

• Samford is in the playoffs for the first time since 2013. The Bulldogs travel to face Youngstown State.

• Wofford plays host to Charleston Southern. The Terriers won their final four games during the regular season.

• SoCon teams are 4-1 in the opening round of the playoffs since the current format was adopted in 2013.

• The Southern Conference has the most wins (103) and highest winning percentage (.609) in the playoffs of all FCS leagues.

• Seven of the league’s nine teams have appeared in the playoffs at least once.

• SoCon teams are 10-10 against the Big Sky in the playoffs and own a 13-8 advantage over the Missouri Valley. League teams are 2-1 against the Big South in the playoffs.

• SoCon teams went 10-1 against FCS opponents during the regular season.
