SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU running back Jajuan Stinson has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Nov. 9-15, the league office announced Wednesday.
Stinson finished with 143 all-purpose yards, including a game-high 114 yards on the ground in ETSU’s 23-16 win over Cumberland on Saturday. The sophomore running back posted his fifth 100-plus yard rushing game of his career, his second in the last four contests for ETSU. The Knoxville, Tenn. Stinson averaged 6.7 yards per carry on 17 attempts and scored all three touchdowns for the Bucs, one of which was a 29-yard reception from quarterback Austin Herink. The Knoxville, Tenn., native also became the first Buccaneer with a 3-touchdown game since 2003.
In the classroom, Stinson boasts a 3.346 grade point average as a sport management major.
The General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes that hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and whose sport is currently in-season. Nominees must have also completed at least one full academic year at their respective institutions.
