-Samford’s Karel Hamilton caught a career-high 16 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns in Samford’s 30-17 win over Western Carolina.  Hamilton’s 16 receptions tied for the seventh-highest single-game total in league history.

- The Citadel claimed a 24-21 overtime win at Wofford last Saturday, giving the Bulldogs their first 7-0 start in program history.

- The Citadel Bulldogs, Chattanooga Mocs and Samford Bulldogs are ranked in both weekly FCS polls. The Citadel is ranked fifth in the STATS poll and seventh by the coaches. UTC is eighth in the coaches poll and 10th in the STATS poll. Samford is ranked 19th by the coaches and 20th in the STATS poll.
• Wofford is among the teams receiving votes in both polls.

- Eight of the league’s 21 conference games this season have been decided by one possession. Since the start of the 2013 season, 46 of 109 (.438) league games have been decided by one possession.

- Southern Conference teams are 10-1 against FCS nonconference opponents in 2016.
