DAVIDSON, N.C. – Furman topped Davidson, 6-1, Friday in women's tennis action at the Knobloch Tennis Center.

Furman won two out of three doubles matches to clinch the opening point. Junior Blair Martin and freshman Gabby Rodriguez teamed up to beat Anna C. Feaster and Jenna Brunner, 7-6 (5) at flight two, and sophomore Harper Caswell and junior Karlee Bryde defeated Ava Todd and Megan Scholvinck, 6-2, at No. 3. The Wildcats recorded the win in the top flight, as Elaina Cummer and Sarah Stein beat junior Ansley Speaks and rookie Katarina Weymouth, 6-2.

In singles action, the Paladins won five out of six matches for the team victory. Speaks beat Feaster, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0, in the top-flighted matchup, and Weymouth notched a 6-2, 6-3 win over Todd at flight two. In the flight-four match, Bryde came from behind for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory against Gabrielle Centenari, and Rodriguez claimed a 6-3, 6-2 win versus Cummer at No. 5. Caswell downed Stein, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) in the flight-six contest.

Davidson's Scholvinck bested Martin, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, at flight three to score the Wildcats' lone point.

The Paladins (2-2) will play at Wake Forest Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
