SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU senior Chandler Christopher has been named General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Jan. 13-19, the leagued office announced Wednesday.
Christopher, a guard on the Bucs’ women’s basketball team, notched 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and added six assists in a winning effort against UNCG last Thursday. She then matched her career high by registering 20 points in a 74-62 win over Western Carolina on Saturday, tacking on three steals in 32 minutes of action versus the Catamounts.
The Greeneville, Tenn., native has scored in double figures in three of the Bucs’ four SoCon contests and ranks third in the league with an average of 4.2 assists per game. She is also tied for fourth in the conference with 30 steals on the season.
Christopher is a nursing major at ETSU and owns a 3.55 grade point average.
