SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford running back Nick Colvin was named General Shale Student-Athlete of the Week for competition that occurred Sept. 16-22, the league office announced Wednesday.

Colvin led the Terriers with 266 total yards on Saturday in a narrow 41-38 loss at Idaho. In the second quarter, the Wofford junior returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. It was the longest kickoff return in school history and the first kickoff returned for a touchdown by a Wofford player since the 2011 season. Colvin also had 63 yards on three carries and 65 yards on two receptions.

The Bogart, Ga., product holds a 3.74 grade point average and is majoring in biology. He was named to the Southern Conference fall academic all-conference team in 2014 and has been named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll in each of the last two years.
