Shanks led the way with seven goals and four assists for 11 points in two games for the Knights over the past week, including a victory over No. 13 Marquette on Tuesday. The sophomore extended his goal scoring streak to 21 games, currently the third-longest streak in the nation.

Shanks totaled three goals and three assists for six points in the Knights’ 9-3 win over Marquette. It was the first win for a SoCon team over a ranked opponent in the league’s inaugural season of lacrosse. Shanks, a native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, then added four goals and an assist against Air Force on Saturday. He receives the weekly honor for the first time.

Hynes earned his second weekly defensive honor in three weeks with a strong performance in Richmond’s 8-2 win over Furman on Saturday. The sophomore racked up nine ground balls in the win, tied for the second-highest single-game total by a SoCon player this season. He also caused three of the team’s 13 caused turnovers in the contest.

The native of Mahopac, N.Y. leads the Spiders with 18 caused turnovers this season and ranks second on the squad with 35 ground balls.
