SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s David Biosca has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played April 6-12. It is the second time this season Biosca has earned the award after taking home the honor March 24.  The sophomore was a perfect 4-0 in all competition last week as the Bucs earned conference sweeps over Mercer (April 10) and Chattanooga (April 11).

Biosca ran his winning streak to eight matches in singles play as he earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Mercer’s Oliver Snaider before claiming a 6-0, 6-0 win over UTC’s Lucas Plesky.  Biosca is now 12-5 in singles play this spring and 5-0 in conference matches.

The team of Biosca and Rogerio Ribeiro competed at No. 1 doubles for ETSU and earned wins over Mercer’s Arnav and Arsav Mohanty (8-3) and Chattanooga’s Plesky and John Peacey (8-4) to run their record to 9-7 together, including a 3-1 mark in SoCon matches.

ETSU (12-7, 5-0 SoCon) will host The Citadel on Friday afternoon before taking on Furman on Saturday to close the regular season.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Furman’s Adam Steryous and Chattanooga’s Gino Delavalle.
