MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over Georgia Southwestern on Tuesday afternoon at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

"I was not happy with the overall intensity during doubles play," said Head Coach Eric Hayes. "However, we made some adjustments and looked good in singles. Now we have a week to get ready for our first conference match."

Mercer won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead in the match. The Bears kept the momentum rolling and won the first five singles matches to seal the victory.

Mercer improved to 6-8 on the season, while Georgia Southwestern moved to 2-7 overall.

Next up, Mercer will host UNCG on March 11 at 1:00 p.m. The match will serve as the Bears' first-ever Southern Conference matchup.
