The 2015 Southern Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships featured drama, excitement and some well-played basketball, as the 10 men’s teams and eight women’s squads squared off to compete for their respective titles. The events, held in Asheville, N.C., did not disappoint fans with both title games going down to the wire in true March Madness fashion.

The men’s title game featured top-seeded Wofford against 10th-seeded Furman in a matchup of upstate South Carolina foes. The Paladins knocked off No. 7 seed Citadel, No. 2 seed Chattanooga and No. 3 seed Mercer en route to the title game and hoped to complete their improbable run by defeating the Terriers. Wofford had other plans, though, and held off the Paladins late for the 67-64 victory to claim their second straight SoCon title.

The women’s championship game saw ETSU overcome a 24-point deficit to force overtime against regular season champion and 18th-ranked Chattanooga. In the end, though, the Mocs held off the Bucs in the extra frame for the 61-56 victory to earn their third straight SoCon Tournament title.
