KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - No. 15 Tennessee's Erin Gabriel pitched the 13th perfect game in program history Tuesday, and the second no-hitter of her career, as the Lady Vols (22-7) defeated ETSU, 10-0, in five innings at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
With the win, Tennessee extended its win streak versus in-state opponents to 82 games. The Lady Vols (22-7) are 111-3 all-time versus in-state opponents.
Seven Tennessee players drove in at least one run for the Lady Vols. Tennessee entered the matchup boasting the nation's sixth-ranked scoring offense, averaging nearly eight runs per contest.
ETSU will be back in action Saturday, March 28 as the Bucs kick off a three-game series versus Chattanooga at Betty Basler Field in Johnson City.
