SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Jacksonville attacker Tom Moore and Mercer goalie Mike Nugent have been named the Southern Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for games of March 11-14, the league office announced on Tuesday. The selections are made by the conference office.

Moore earned his second straight weekly honor after totaling 13 points in two games last week. The junior scored six goals on 14 shots and added seven assists, two ground balls and a caused turnover, as Jacksonville defeated Robert Morris and VMI last week.

Nugent led Mercer to its first win of the season in its first ever SoCon game on Saturday, making 20 saves in the Bear’s 12-11 overtime win against High Point. The junior allowed 10 goals against his 20 saves to record a .667 save percentage.

The native of Milton, Ga. has recorded two games with at least 20 saves this season, the only SoCon player to do so. He leads the conference in saves per game at 15.00.
