SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga wrestler Jared Johnson has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Johnson earned a 17-0 tech fall win in the Mocs’ 36-3 team win over Davidson last Friday. The sophomore heavyweight improved to 25-6 on the season, including a 5-0 mark in SoCon matches.

The chemical engineering major boasts a career 3.70 grade point average.
