UNCG at Duke postponed
GREENSBORO, N.C. – More winter weather across the state has forced the postponement of UNCG’s nonconference contest at Duke. The teams are currently looking to reschedule the contest for a later date.
The Spartans and Blue Devils were to play at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jack Coombs Field on Duke’s campus.
Weather permitting, UNCG will continue competition Wednesday at former Southern Conference rival Elon. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
VMI at James Madison canceled
LEXINGTON, Va. – Due to residual ice remaining on Eagle Field in Harrisonburg, Va., the VMI/JMU baseball game scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled. There is no scheduled makeup date for the contest, although the teams will play in mid-March in a regularly scheduled game at Gray-Minor Stadium. VMI is now scheduled to return to action Wednesday at William & Mary.
Western Carolina at UNC Asheville postponed
CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Inclement weather associated with Winter Storm Quantum has resulted in the postponement of Western Carolina baseball's nonconference midweek meeting with mountain rival UNC Asheville, which was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at UNCA's Greenwood Field. It is the second consecutive Wednesday the two programs have had weather-related schedule changes.
Snowfall across the region on an already damp playing surface made the field unplayable. Also, unfavorable forecasts for additional winter precipitation on Wednesday stemming from a currently unnamed storm prompted officials at UNC Asheville to postpone Wednesday afternoon's ballgame.
No makeup date for Wednesday's game has been announced. The two squads are currently slated to play two games in early May in a home-and-home.
Wofford at Clemson postponed
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Due to snow and poor field conditions, the Clemson vs. Wofford game scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m. has been postponed. The makeup contest is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Tickets for Tuesday’s Wofford game will be valid for Wednesday’s rescheduled game against the Terriers.
Wofford will begin a four-game home series with Harvard on Friday at 4 p.m.
