SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Haris Poric has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played through Feb. 8. Poric has opened the 2015 season 4-0 in singles play and owns a 2-1 mark in doubles competition.

Competing at No. 2 singles for the Terriers, Poric won three of his four matches in straight sets, including a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 victory over South Carolina’s Andre Schafer, ranked No. 83 in the country.

The Sydney, Australia, native also topped Appalachian State’s Zach Bost (6-3, 6-3), Winthrop’s Treymayne Mitchell (6-4, 6-4) and King University’s Mortiz Poswait (6-5, 6-4).

Wofford’s top doubles team of Rob Galloway and Poric earned a 6-0 win over Poswait and Luis Delgado of King University and secured a 7-5 victory over Appalachian State’s Bost and Oliver Casey. Galloway and Poric’s only defeat came to Winthrop’s Dyland Comerford and Peter Nagovnak (3-6).

The Terriers are 3-3 this season and return to the courts Wednesday when they host Gardner-Webb at 2:30 p.m.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Furman’s Cameron Green, Mercer’s Arnav Mohanty, Samford’s Austin Akers and Chattanooga’s Gino Delavalle.
