SPARTANBURG, S.C. – FOX Sports Southeast announced today it has reached an agreement with the Southern Conference to televise a five-game package of men’s conference basketball match-ups this season. The first game will tip off Saturday, January 2, with Mercer hosting Samford at 2 p.m. ET. Play-by-play announcer Pete Yanity will call the five games on the schedule (listed below) alongside analyst Dean Keener.
All five games will be televised live on FOX Sports Southeast and will also be available on FOX Sports GO (FOXSportsGO.com), a free app that provides live streaming video of most FOX Sports programming through select multi-channel programming distributors. FOX Sports Southeast currently reaches more than ten million households throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina.
“We’re excited to showcase some of our member institutions on the FOX Sports Southeast regional network,” said Southern Conference Commissioner John Iamarino. “Under this agreement the Southern Conference will work closely with Fox Sports to produce a network quality game telecast for distribution on both linear television and in the digital space through the FOX Sports Go app.”
The addition of these five games will give Southern Conference men’s basketball teams a total of 50 exposures over 13 different linear television networks this season, with an additional 188 games involving league teams available on various online streaming platforms.
