GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman goalkeeper Sven Lissek has been named to the list of 59 NCAA Division I players invited to participate in the 2016 adidas MLS Player Combine, which will take place Jan. 7-12, 2016, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., while former Paladin goalkeeper Alec Kann was selected by MLS’ Sporting Kansas City in stage one of the 2015 Re-Entry Draft on Friday.

Representatives of all 20 MLS clubs will be on hand at the 2016 MLS Player Combine to evaluate the top college talent ahead of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 14, in Baltimore, Md.

Lissek posted a 0.70 goals against average and seven shutouts while helping to lead Furman to a second straight Southern Conference tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance this past season. The NSCAA All-South Region choice notched shutouts of Mercer and ETSU during the SoCon tournament to garner most outstanding player honors and stopped three shots during a penalty-kick shootout versus South Carolina in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

The Sewau, Germany, native finished second in SoCon history with 28 career shutouts and guided Furman to three consecutive draws in NCAA tournament play, recording penalty-kick saves in each of the three contests.

A committee of MLS coaches and NCAA Division I coaches from every conference selected the invitees, all of whom completed their college eligibility this season. Additional invitees including Generation adidas signings, non-collegiate players and more college seniors will be announced in the coming weeks.

Kann appeared in and started one match for the MLS’ Chicago Fire this past season after making loan moves to St. Louis and Charleston in recent years. Kann earned NSCAA Scholar All-Region and NSCAA All-South Region First Team honors as a Paladin in 2011 while helping his team to an NCAA tournament appearance.
