Two UNCG runners compete at Three Stripe Invite

CARY, N.C. – UNCG’s Jonathan Hodge and Nicholas Erwin competed at the Three Stripe Invitational hosted by North Carolina State Saturday at the WakeMed Park Cross Country Course.
In less than idea racing conditions due to inclement weather both member’s of UNCG’s squads set personal bests on the wet course.
Hodge placed 39th overall clocking an 18:05.82 on the 5-kilometer course taking nearly 15 seconds off his personal best time set at the Wolfpack Challenge in 2014.
Three places behind him was freshman Erwin who competed in his first career 5k as a Spartan finishing in 18:18.01.
Stephen Furst who ran unattached was the top finisher crossing the line in 14:56.49. NC State’s John Hagood was the top attached finisher crossing the line in 15:23.27.
UNCG returns to action Friday, November 13, at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Charlottesville, Va.
