SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Campbell 165-pounder Paul Duggan has been named the Southern Conference wrestler of the week for all competition from Nov. 1-3. The selection is made by the league office.

Duggan picked up a pin for the Camels in their season opener, a 21-16 loss to Grand Canyon on Sunday. The redshirt senior from Olivia, N.C., stuck the Antelopes’ Bobby Reece in just 1:40 to put Campbell on the board in the third match of the day, drawing the Camels within one point of GCU at 7-6. Duggan had already picked up a takedown and a four-point near fall before putting Reece on his back.

Duggan’s pin was the only one of the dual for either squad.

The weekly award is the first of Duggan’s career.

Campbell (0-1) returns to action for a busy weekend at the Pembroke Classic on Saturday and at the West Virginia Mountaineer Quads and Hokie Open on Sunday.
