SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The 2015 NCAA FCS bracket was announced Sunday morning (Nov. 22) and Southern Conference champion co-champions The Citadel and Chattanooga both earned a berth in the 24-team field. 

Chattanooga (8-3, 6-1 SoCon) will play host to Fordham (9-2, 5-1 Patriot League) on November 29 at 1:00 p.m.  The winner of that game will advance to face top-seeded Jacksonville State.  The Mocs are in the playoffs for the second consecutive season after advancing to the quarterfinals in 2014 before falling at New Hampshire.

The Citadel (8-3, 6-1 SoCon) will travel to face Coastal Carolina (9-2, 4-2 Big South) with the winner advancing to take on Charleston Southern.  The Bulldogs and Chanticleers will square off at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 28 in Conway, S.C.  The Bulldogs are making their fourth appearance in the FCS playoffs and earned their first bid since 1992.  The Citadel topped FBS South Carolina, 23-22, on Saturday to close the regular season. 

Both games will be available on ESPN3.

Jacksonville State earned the No. 1 overall seed, while Illinois State was seeded second.  Four-time defending national champion North Dakota State earned the No. 3 seed in the playoffs while McNeese State was seeded fourth.  James Madison was slotted fifth, while Portland State earned the No. 6 national seed.  Richmond earned the No. 7 national seed and Charleston Southern was seeded eighth.  All eight national seeds earned a bye to the round of 16.

Southern Conference teams are 101-64 (.612) in the NCAA playoffs, the best mark among FCS Conferences.

The FCS National Championship game will be held January 9, 2015 in Frisco, Texas.
