SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Teghan Henderson and Paul Stuart have been named Southern Conference women’s and men’s runners of the week, respectively, for competition that took place Oct. 2-3, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Henderson, a redshirt junior hailing from Pickering Ontario, took the women’s title at the JSU Foothills Invitational in Oxford, Alabama, on Saturday. Despite dealing with rainy conditions, her time of 17:15.47 over the 5k course was good for a course record and helped the Chattanooga women to a second-place finish. This is Henderson’s fifth career runner of the week honor.

Stuart, a redshirt junior from Brentwood, Tennessee, paced the Chattanooga men over the 8k course by clocking a personal-best 25:19.81. The time was good for fifth place individually and led the Mocs to a second-place finish at the meet with 84 points, behind only Auburn.

The SoCon cross country slate will resume when ETSU and Furman compete on Saturday at the Gene Mullin Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina.
