SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG forward Caylin Prillaman has been named the Southern Conference women’s soccer player of the week for all competition Oct. 12-18. The selection is made by the league office.
Prillaman scored in both of UNCG’s games last week, running her season total to four goals.
The freshman from High Point, N.C., notched her second game-winner of the season in the Spartans’ 1-0 win over Mercer on Friday before adding another goal in UNCG’s 5-0 win over The Citadel on Sunday.
The weekly award is the first of Prillaman’s career.
UNCG (7-8-3, 5-2-1 SoCon) closes the regular season on Sunday when it hosts VMI (6-11-0, 2-6-0 SoCon) at 2 p.m. The Spartans enter the weekend tied for second in the league standings with Furman with 16 points.
