SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mark Hadley and Laura Miller of Furman have been named Southern Conference men’s and women’s runners of the week, respectively, for competition that took place Oct. 10, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Hadley, a sophomore from Boardman, Ohio, won the men’s individual title at the Gene Mullin Invitational in Greenville, S.C., clocking a 15:32.26 on the 5K course. The Paladin men claimed the first six spots and scored a perfect 15 points to win the meet. This is Hadley’s first career weekly honor.
Miller, a native of Greenville, S.C., claimed the individual title on the women’s side at the Gene Mullin Invitational, posting a time of 18:25.77 on the 5K course. The Furman women placed six runners in the top 10 and won the meet with 19 points. Like Hadley, this is the junior’s first career weekly recognition.
The SoCon cross country slate will pick up this weekend, as all 10 teams will be in action.
