SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Krista Boesing earned offensive player of the week honors, and Wofford’s Jessica Graham took home defensive player of the week recognition for competition that took place Oct. 5-11. Selections were made by the conference office.
Offensive Player of the Week: Krista Boesing ▪ Samford ▪ Freshman ▪ Outside Hitter ▪ New Albany, Ind.
Boesing, a freshman from New Albany, Ind., put together a solid week for the Bulldogs, posting 28 kills across two matches for an average of 4.67 kills per set and a .429 hitting percentage. Boesing’s 15 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Western Carolina helped the Bulldogs to their third SoCon victory, and her .500 hitting percentage in the match marked a career high. The freshman ranks in the top 10 in the league in kills per set. This is her first SoCon player of the week distinction.

Graham had an impressive week for Wofford, recording 49 digs in three matches to become the Terriers’ all-time digs leader. She averaged 4.90 digs per set on the week, including a team-high 13 digs in Wofford’s sweep of Furman. Graham tacked on 21 digs against Mercer on Saturday before adding 15 digs in a 3-0 win over The Citadel. The Goose Greek, S.C., native ranks fourth in the league in digs per set with an average of 4.58 and is second in career digs among active SoCon players with 1,664. This is her second career SoCon player of the week honor.
