Indoor Track Athletes of the Week Announced

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Troy Reeder has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and Samford’s Tray Oates has been named the Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Furman runner Sinead Haughey has been named the Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and Samford’s Kristen Brining was picked as the Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. The selections are made by the league’s track and field coaches.

Haughey ran a 9:38.12, a personal best, at the Vanderbilt Invitational to place third overall. She is currently the conference leader by 21 seconds.

Brining tossed a 17.17-meter mark in the weight throw in the Bulldogs’ most recent outing, the highest mark in the conference this season.

Reeder ran a 4:05.86 in the mile at the Vanderbilt Invitational last weekend. The mark currently leads the SoCon and ranks in the top 25 nationally.

Oates won the Vanderbilt Invitational pole vault with a jump of 5.20 meters (17-0.75). The mark leads the conference this season.
