Furman's Wilkins Named Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman forward Holli Wilkins has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Wilkins averaged 15.0 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in two contests for Furman over the past week. The junior shot 43.3 percent (13-for-30) to aid the Paladins to a 1-1 record on the week.

Wilkins scored a team-high 18 points on the road at league-leader Chattanooga on Saturday. She followed with 12 points and drained a pair of key free throws in a comeback win over Wofford on Monday.

The native of Atlanta, Ga., holds a career 3.32 grade point average as a communications major. She enters play this week with 949 career points and will become the 21st player in Furman history with 1,000 points, if she is able to reach the milestone.
