SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG women’s soccer player Chesney White has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.

White scored the game-winning goal with two minutes left as UNCG knocked off Liberty, 1-0, on the road last week. It was the 12th career goal and fifth career game-winning goal for the Franklin High School product.

White, a native of Franklin, Tenn., also assisted the Spartans’ game-winning goal against Army later that week to cap a 2-1 comeback victory for the Blue and Gold.

The junior nursing major holds an overall 3.83 grade point average while being a standout for the Spartans during her career. She was named to the Academic All-SoCon team last season in addition to earning second-team All-Conference honors.
