Michael Lantz Leads The Citadel at Will Wilson Citadel Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Michael Lantz clocked in at 26:54 to nab first in the Division I section and second overall in the men's 8k at Saturday's Will Wilson Citadel Invitational at James Island County Park in Charleston, S.C.

Five other Bulldogs earned top 10 finishes in the Division I group. Raven Lantz placed second in DI and sixth overall, clocking in at 27:36, while James Cunningham recorded his career-best time of 28:06 to finish in fourth for the DI runners.

Justice Sanders placed fifth in DI and 10th overall with a time of 28:16 while Darrell Hayden posted a mark of 28:23 to earn sixth in DI and 12th overall.

Grant Smith capped off the top five runners for the Bulldogs, recording a season-best time of 28:33 to place seventh and 13th overall.

Jackie Thompson earned her season-best 5k time of 19:54 to lead the Bulldogs for the third consecutive time this year and finished in fourth place in both DI and overall. Jess DeWitte posted her career-best time of 20:07 to place fifth and sixth overall.

Callian Colquitt earned her career-best mark of 20:17 to finish seventh in DI and ninth overall while Nicole Ogilbee clocked in right behind her, recording her career-best time of 20:29 and place eighth in DI and 11th overall.

Emani Little rounded out The Citadel top five with a season-best mark of 20:30 to place ninth in DI and 12th overall. Emily Fields also recorded a season-best time of 20:56 to earn 20th overall while Grace Jenkins posted her career-best time of 21:01 to finish 21st.

The Bulldogs are back in action next Saturday at the USC Upstate Invitational at the Milliken Research Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
