GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman men’s soccer team, winner of four straight, entered the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Top 25 Poll at No. 19, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Sven Lissek, who was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week on Tuesday, turned away seven shots in goal on Friday night to pace the Paladins to a 1-0 victory at eighth-ranked Coastal Carolina. The victory marked Furman’s fourth straight win and second triumph of the season over a nationally ranked opponent. For Lissek, Friday’s win was his third shutout of the 2014 campaign.

Earlier on Tuesday, forward Lewis Hawke was named Southern Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after scoring the game-winning goal at Coastal Carolina and the Paladins entered the Soccer America Top 25 at No. 22.

Furman returns to action on Friday at 7 p.m. when it travels to Lexington, Ky., to battle the Kentucky Wildcats.
