Henderson Earns Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga cross country runner Teghan Henderson has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Henderson was named SoCon Women’s Runner of the Week after successfully defending her Powerade Invitational title on Friday night at the Moccasin Bend course. The junior held off Tennessee’s Chelsea Blaase in the final 50 meters to take first in the event.

Henderson, a returning All-American, set a new course record with a time of 10:30 for the two-mile race. The native of Pickering, Ontario, Canada helped the Mocs go 6-1 at the event in the double-duel format, including a win over Tennessee.

The business management major holds an overall 3.90 grade point average. Henderson went undefeated in the regular season last year and was the Southern Conference Female Runner of the Year after winning the Southern Conference Championship by over 25 seconds.
