BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford outfielder Heath Quinn was named to the Perfect Game’s Freshman All-America team on Friday.
This marks the fourth time Quinn has been named to a Freshman All-America team. Quinn and was also named to the Baseball America, Louisville Slugger and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-America teams.
Quinn was named the Southern Conference’s Freshman of the Year at the conclusion of the regular season. He was also named second team all-conference, as well as all-freshman, by the SoCon.
Quinn hit .319, ranking third overall on the team, and second among everyday starters. He led the team in doubles with 20, and he ranked second in hits with 73. Quinn tied for second on the team in RBIs with 48, and he tied for third on the squad in home runs with nine.
Quinn helped lead the Bulldogs to a 35-25 overall record, marking just the third time the team has won 35 games in program history. The team reached the finals of the Southern Conference tournament for the third time in the last four years.
