Evans Named NCEL Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Will Evans, a men’s golfer from Georgia Southern, has been named the North Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week for March 19, the league office announced Wednesday.

Evans is a senior international trade major from McDonough, Ga., and holds a 3.40 GPA. Evans shot a 3-round total of 213 (-3) to tie for fourth at the 35th Schenkel Invitational over the weekend. He helped GSU win the tournament for the first time in school history, recording a hole-in-one on the par-3, 130-yard sixth hole during the second round. 

Also nominated for NCEL Student-Athlete of the Week were Elon women’s golfer Emily Brooks and Furman softball player Sierra Bishop.
