Davidson vs. Wake Forest postponed
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Tuesday night’s Davidson baseball game against Wake Forest at Wilson Field has been postponed to Wednesday at 6 p.m. due to inclement weather, it was announced Tuesday morning.
Weather has plagued the early season home-and-home series. After heavy snows blanketed the state during the opening weekend of the baseball season in February, the teams swapped the originally scheduled locations for their opening contest, as Wake Forest’s turf field was ready for play before Wilson Field’s natural grass.
The Demon Deacons (13-8, 3-3 ACC) won that first meeting, 4-3, after forcing extra innings in the bottom of the ninth inning and scratching across the winning run in the 12th.
Davidson (10-6, 3-0 SoCon) will enter Wednesday night’s game looking to extend its winning streak to eight games, which would be its longest since it won nine games in a row in 1964.
