SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga senior Jordan Britt has been named the first Southern Conference women’s golfer of the week for the spring season. The selection is made by the league office and includes all competition through Feb. 25.

Britt averaged 73.8 strokes per round at her two tournaments so far this season. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native tied for fifth at the season-opening Lady Bulldog Invitational on Feb. 8, shooting rounds of 77 and 72 for a 5-over-par 149.

Britt followed that up with a 4-over 220 (72-74-74) on Feb. 17-18 to tie for 29th at the Central District Invitational, which featured five ranked squads and was won by No. 14 Vanderbilt. Chattanooga finished 10th. The tournament also featured five individuals that appear in the national rankings.

Through her first five rounds of the spring season, Britt has posted two rounds of even-par.

Chattanooga returns to the course March 2-4 at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic at Kiawah Island, S.C.

Also nominated: Erica Pelligrini (The Citadel), Valentina Romero (Furman), Sydney Needham (Samford), Kristin Swindell (Western Carolina) and Anne Marie Covar (Wofford).
