Western Carolina at Washington State, canceled

PULLMAN, Wash. – Continuing and lingering snow showers across Eastern Washington have forced the cancellation of the final two games of the Western Carolina at Washington State baseball series. Though the two games against the Cougars will not be rescheduled, Western Carolina will look to fill its schedule with two additional games in the coming weeks.

Even with the totally artificial turf surface at Bailey-Brayton Field, playing conditions never improved throughout the day as snow that started Saturday afternoon, forcing Sunday's postponement, continued through the daylight hours on Monday. Forecasts originally left an early afternoon window with officials at Washington State planning to play just one game beginning at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET - however, storm intensity increased, forcing the cancellation of both games.

Western Carolina (4-2), which took the first two games of the nonconference road series over the Cougars, will return home for four straight home games, beginning with a three-game nonconference series with LaSalle from Feb. 28 through March 2. Game times are 4 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
