SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s cross country runner Tripp Hurt has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Hurt led the Paladins to their second consecutive SoCon Cross Country Championship on Friday in Kernersville, N.C. The senior won the men’s 8K race with a time of 24:18.63 to earn SoCon Men's Runner of the Year honors.
Hurt was named first-team All-SoCon for the third-consecutive season with his performance. The native of Bogart, Ga. holds a 3.549 grade point average majoring in physics.
