Men's Soccer 11/4/2014 10:00:00 AM Southern Conference Wofford's Wichmann Final Player of the Week SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford goalkeeper Joe Wichmann has been named the Southern Conference men’s soccer player of the week for all competition from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2. The selection is made by the league office and is the final one of the 2014 season.Wichmann was 2-0 in the net for the Terriers last week, posting a pair of shutouts as Wofford locked up the No. 2 seed and a bye into the semifinals of the upcoming Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Championship.On Oct. 28 against VMI, Wichmann made four saves as Wofford blanked the Keydets 3-0. The sophomore from Mount Pleasant, S.C., followed that up with five saves in a 1-0 win over Furman on Saturday that clinched the No. 2 seed for the Terriers.Wichmann, who has started Wofford’s last three contests, has allowed just one goal in five appearances this season, fashioning a 0.24 goals against average.
