Furman's Fisher Earns Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman outside hitter Andrea Fisher has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Fisher ended her Furman career in impressive fashion, recording 49 kills and 52 digs in three matches at the SoCon Volleyball Championship. She was named to the All-Tournament team for her strong play as the Paladins advanced to the championship match.

Fisher put down a career-high 28 kills and 20 digs in Furman’s five-set win over Western Carolina on Sunday. It was the first performance of 20 kills and 20 digs by a player in the conference this season, while her 28 kills were the most a SoCon player this year.
