SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Karl Cochran has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played Nov. 18-24, while Furman’s Daniel Fowler earned the CRONS Freshman of the Week Award, the league office announced Tuesday (Nov. 25).
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Karl Cochran, G, Sr., Marietta, Ga.
Karl Cochran averaged 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals as the Terriers went 4-0 last week with wins over Iona (86-73), Fairfield (56-34), South Dakota (72-68) and Sam Houston State (64-53). The senior recorded his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Fairfield. He followed that performance with a career-high 31 points against South Dakota on the strength of shooting 8-of-13 from 3-point range. Cochran began the week with a team-high 20 points last Tuesday against Iona as part of ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon and shot 16-of-33 (.485) from 3-point range for the week.

CRONS Freshman of the Week: Daniel Fowler, G/F, Acworth, Ga.
Daniel Fowler averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Paladins last week as Furman topped Appalachian State (84-65) before falling to UC Davis (58-55). Fowler began the week with eight points against the Mountaineers before tallying 11 points and three steals against UC Davis. The Acworth, Ga., native shot 64 percent from the field last week and was 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
