SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer women’s soccer goalkeeper Maggie Cropp has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.

Cropp was named Most Outstanding Player at the SoCon Women’s Soccer Championship in Cullowhee, N.C. last weekend. The junior totaled 18 saves over the two matches, including a career-high 12 in a tightly contested 3-2 win over Furman on Friday. Mercer went on to win its first SoCon Championship after defeating Samford 2-1 on Sunday.

Cropp also took SoCon All-Tournament honors and was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA Player of the Week. The native of Morgan Hill, Calif., has compiled a career 3.923 grade point average as a sociology major. She made in all 21 games for Mercer this season and leads the SoCon with a .854 save percentage.

Cropp takes the weekly award for the second time this year.
