MACON, Ga. – Mercer goalkeeper Maggie Cropp has been named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA player of the week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Cropp made 18 saves in the semifinals and final of the Southern Conference tournament, including a career-high 12 saves against Furman on Friday. She also made six saves against Samford on Sunday as Mercer won the SoCon tournament and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The junior from Morgan Hill, Calif., has made 76 saves and allowed just 13 goals this season en route to an .854 save percentage and 0.72 goals-against average. Cropp leads the SoCon in both save percentage and GAA while ranking No. 25 nationally in save percentage.
The Bears will face No. 8 Florida on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. in Gainesville, Fla. This will be Mercer’s second-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament.
