• Six Southern Conference teams are in action this weekend while Furman and Samford are idle.

• Home teams are 5-3 in conference play this season after going 21-15 last year.

• Four of the eight league games this season have been decided by one possession. Sixteen of the SoCon’s 36 league games were decided by one possession last year.

• Chattanooga senior Davis Tull is tied for fourth place on the league’s career sacks list (31.5).

• The Southern Conference had one player named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List, while two were tabbed for the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List. Three SoCon players were named to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List. The Payton Award is presented annually to the most outstanding player at the FCS level, while the Buchanan honors the nation’s top defensive player in FCS. The Rice Award is given to the nation’s top freshman.

• Rice Award Watch List - Chandler Curtis (Mercer), Al Cobb (VMI) and Alex Lakes (Mercer).

• Southern Conference teams are 10-3 at home in nonconference games this season.

• League teams went 8-7 at home in 2013 and were 13-2 at home in 2012 after going 15-1 in 2011. SoCon teams own a record of 57-16 (.781) in nonconference home games since the start of the 2010 season.
