SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer soccer player Maddie Clark has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Clark scored the game-winning goal in Mercer’s come-from-behind, double-overtime win over ETSU on Friday. The native of Peachtree Corners, Ga. gave Mercer the victory when she found the back of the net in the 102nd minute.
Clark has played in all 15 games for Mercer this season, making 13 starts. The sophomore Biology major holds a 3.31 grade point average and is declared as pre-physical therapy.
Mercer women’s soccer takes the weekly honor for the second straight week, after goalie Maggie Cropp received the award a week ago.
