^{Western Carolina finishes 10th at JU Classic}

^{PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Western Carolina posted a final-round score of 307 Tuesday, which was tied for sixth-best on the day, but it was not enough to move up in the standings as the Catamounts finished the JU Classic 10th overall. WCU posted a 54-hole total of 925 at the par-72, 5967-yard Marsh Landing Country Club.}

^{Western Carolina was led by sophomore Ashley Thompson and junior Mariah Hopkins, who both posted final-round scores of 3-over-par 75. Thompson finished the event with a 54-hole score of 229, which put her tied for 27th overall. She tallied four birdies throughout the event, including one on Tuesday.}

^{Hopkins, who trimmed four strokes off her second-round score, completed the tournament with a score of 232. She finished tied for 39th overall. Her final round featured three birdies, which brought her total for the event to four.}

^{Sophomore Olivia Landino was unable to maintain her outstanding play from the second round as she posted an 80 on Tuesday. Her three-round total of 233 put her one stroke behind Hopkins and tied for 43rd.}

^{Junior Kristin Swindell and sophomore Bethany Galloway shot 78 and 79, respectively, during the final round to close out WCU’s group of five. Swindell finished the tournament with a three-round total of 235, which ranked her tied for 48th, while Galloway finished 61st with a score of 240.}

^{Playing unattached as an individual, junior Taylor Allison was the highest-finishing Catamount and the highest-finishing unattached player at the event. She finished fifth overall in the 78-golfer field with a 54-hole score of 219. Allison finished just six strokes behind the leader and was just two strokes from fourth overall. She was able to trim five shots off her second-round total to shoot a 71 on Tuesday. She had five birdies on the day to bring her total to 11 for the tournament.}

^{Junior Kim Mitchell, also playing as an individual competitor, shot 74 for a total of 232, tied for 39th place. She had three birdies during her final round while moving up 19 places on the leaderboard.}

^{Paced by overall tournament champion Marissa Hinchman, Coastal Carolina won the JU Classic by 23 strokes over second-place Troy (897), as the Chanticleers carded a final score of 874. North Florida finished in third at 899, with Daytona State College (900) and Charleston Southern (908) rounding out the top five teams.}

^{Hinchman (213) won by one stroke over Tiffany Chan of Daytona State College and Juliet Vongphoumy of Maryland, who tied for second overall.}

^{Western Carolina returns to action in late October with the Palmetto Intercollegiate, hosted by College of Charleston at Kiawah Resort – Turtle Point in Kiawah Island, S.C. The three-round tournament is scheduled for rounds on Sunday, Oct. 26; Monday, Oct. 27; and Tuesday, Oct. 28.}
