SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman volleyball player Jo Wilks has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Wilks compiled a career-best performance to led Furman in a 3-1 win over Western Carolina on Saturday. The junior setter totaled 58 assists, an average of 14.5 assists per set, and added 19 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
Wilks also recorded 39 assists earlier in the week in a three-set win against ETSU. The native of Union Grove, Wis. currently ranks second in the SoCon in assists per set this season with 10.44.
The health science major sports a 3.73 overall grade point average. Wilks was named to the SoCon All-Academic Volleyball Team and Academic Honor Roll last season.
