SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Teghan Henderson has been honored as the Southern Conference women’s cross country runner of the week for her performance during the weekend of Sept. 20-22, the league office announced Wednesday.

Henderson, a sophomore from Pickering, Ontario, finished in the top spot of the Georgia State Invitational on Saturday, posting a 14:07 mark in the 4K race and finishing 18 seconds ahead of Auburn’s Veronica Elders, who earned SEC freshman of the week honors this week.

Henderson has earned a first-place finishes in both of Chattanooga’s meets this year. The Mocs finished second out of seven teams at the event.

The award is Henderson’s second of the season, as she also earned runner of the week honors for her performance during the weekend of Sept. 6-8.

The Mocs return to action Oct. 5 at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
