Thomas had a walk-off three run home run to earn a comeback victory against Dayton, 6-4. The freshman then homered against Monmouth to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead that they never relinquished. Thomas saved the best for last, breaking up a perfect game being thrown by All-ACC pitcher Melanie Mitchell in the fourth inning, blasting a solo home run to left to tie the game at 1-1. The Spartans eventually defeated the ACC-foe Cavaliers, 2-1 Two of Thomas' home runs last week came with two outs, and she also finished with a .357 batting average and a team high seven RBI.

Shelby Parker made four appearances while compiling a 1-0 record and 0.91 ERA for the Paladins last week.  After allowing an earned run in two appearances at USC Upstate, Parker tossed a five innings of four-hit, shutout ball to pick up a 4-0 victory over Rhode Island on Friday at the Combat Invitational at Winthrop.  She fanned seven batters while allowing just two walks.  The right-hander totaled 12 strikeouts and allowed only seven hits in seven and 2/3 innings for the week.
