SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG senior Courtney Taylor has been named the Southern Conference women’s golfer of the week for all competition March 13-19. The selection is made by the league office.

Taylor finished 10th in the 84-player field at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., over the weekend. As a team, the Spartans tied for ninth in the 15-team field, which included nine of the top 100 teams in the nation.

The Gastonia, N.C., native turned in a three-round score of 218 (72.6 stroke average), including a career-best 3-under 69 on Saturday to help her jump from 34th in the individual standings.

The 10th-place finish was Taylor’s best since finishing fifth at the Southern Conference Championship in 2010, when she was the SoCon Freshman of the Year.

UNCG is back in action when it co-hosts the Bryan National Collegiate on March 29-31.

Also nominated: Yue Xu (Appalachian State), Katharina Boehm (College of Charleston) and Isabella Loza (Chattanooga).
