SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Davidson's Jake Cohen has been named the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for all games played February 19-25.  Cohen averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds last week as the Wildcats ran their winning streak to 12 games with wins over Furman (73-36) and Montana (93-87 OT).

Cohen opened the week with a double-double as he tallied 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes against Furman.  He followed that performance with a team-high 28 points in just 26 minutes in a nationally televised BracketBusters matchup against Montana. 

The senior knocked down 9-of-15 shots from the field and was 9-of-10 from the foul line against the Grizzlies.

A native of Berwyn, Pa., Cohen connected on 54 percent of his field goal attempts last week (13-24) and shot 93 percent from the foul line (13-14).  He averaged 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocked shots per contest.

Cohen ranks fifth in the SoCon in scoring (15.0 ppg), eighth in field goal percentage (.496) and second in blocked shots (1.8 bpg).

Davidson (21-7, 15-1 SoCon) returns to the court Wednesday night when the Wildcats visit Elon (19-9, 12-4 SoCon).

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Appalachian State's Mike Neal, College of Charleston's Andrew Lawrence, The Citadel's Mike Groselle, Elon's Ryley Beaumont, Chattanooga's Gee McGhee, Samford's Raijon Kelly, Western Carolina's Trey Sumler and Wofford's Spencer Collins.
